Fab labs provide widespread access to modern means for invention. They began as an outreach project from MIT’s center for bits and atoms (CBA), and became a collaborative and global network. Set up as a foundation, fab lab has opened more than 1 000 labs around the world through the fab academy program which trains more than 70 fab labs per year via video conference and local application. The fab lab network is building a growing list of projects that benefit the community in many different ways.
Who are fablab Valletta?
Our lab is a young, up and coming platform for learning, making and innovating with the help of digital tools, set up in Valletta, Malta’s first fab lab which forms part of the MIT network. It was established in 2015 as a bottom-up movement to help facilitate hands-on design and innovation by creating a vaster open-source inventory of tools and contacts within the community in Valletta and a budding design cluster.
